KMA-You have a lot of fights in your career. Why have you fought so much?
Carter-To test what I have learned from the various martial arts to test their validity
KMA-Does it take a toll on your body?
Carter-Oh hell yeah, but I persevere!
KMA-Aside from being a pretty well rounded fighter with a good record,
you are also an entertainer as well. Some people may be offended by your intros and your persona, other people like it. What is your
feeling on being an entertainer as well as a fighter?
Carter-It is my job and I enjoy it. I can't please everybody, but oh well. I get paid well as well to do my job not many people can say that
KMA-You have had a few fights in Hawaii. How do you like fighting
here?
Carter-I really enjoyed my time there every time
KMA-What do you think of the Hawaii MMA fans compared to other places you
have fought?
Carter-They are cool as everyone else is. I really had a good time when I
was there with BJ Penn and Ron Jhun, man the crazy cool. the 808 team showed me love.
KMA-Your fights with Ronald Jhun were wars. How do those fights
compare to some of the other fights you have had?
Carter-They compare right up there with Dave Menne 1&2, Matt Serra and
Manson Gibson
KMA-I think you are one of the more entertaining people on the Ultimate
Fighter show. Are you hamming it up for the camera or are you really like this in real life?
Carter-Man that's just me doing me, hell I was actually tamed down for the show. I have no limits!
KMA-Some of the other people in the house up until this episode seem to be
a little annoyed at you, at this point are you trying to distract
them, are you just being yourself, or is there another reason for
the people in the house being upset?
Carter-Me upsetting them is my job and I got paid to do it. They got upset because we were the better team and worked harder than they did. we were hungry all the time.
The whiny beeeches!
KMA-What is something about Shonie Carter that most MMA fans don't know?
Carter-They don't know that I wrote a book and working on my second and the clothing is coming. They don't know that I have a
Jiu-Jitsu backround that predates most fighters career that are more famous than me
KMA-What are some of your interest other than fighting?
Carter-I like blinging and painting.
KMA-Would you say that you are a well rounded person?
Carter-yep!
KMA-Do you feel your interest in things like art and music make you more complete than a
person who's whole life might revolve around fighting?
Carter-I ask you what happens to most fighters after their career is over? they go broke look at
Ray Robinson, Leon Spinks, Mike Tyson.
KMA-Would you be interested in fighting on Kauai, or at least being a
celebrity guest?
Carter-Man if y'all invite me I'll be there, especially if they got the check with you!
KMA-Any words of wisdom from Mr. International for the fans in Hawaii?
Carter-Without perseverance and persistence you will achieve nothing, achieve everything!
